c.1979. 80 pgs. by Walter Williams. Mr. Bill was a popular animated, live-action, cartoon-like show featuring Mr. Bill and his dog Spot, appearing on Saturday Night Live. All the characters were made from modeling clay and the plot in every episode was pretty much the same...doing something mean to Mr Bill, such as: getting physically beaten-up, run over by a car, all for the sake of fun. Mr. Hands was an actual pair of hands that you saw during the episodes. The entire book is printed in full, 4 color pages with handwriting or childlike printing throughout to make it look hand written. It's similar to a story you would see on the TV show, but in this case the story appears on printed pages. All the scenes are set up with backdrops and props, just like they were on TV. The front of the book has a hand printed thank-you for buying this book page and looks like Mr. Bill hand printed it himself. Spine and cover have no creasing, book was never read. Book has no dog-ears, marks or tears. Cover and pages are tight. Book was not widely distributed and is a rare find, now a collector's item. This book is even hard to find in used/out-of-print book stores or rare book shops. This is just the paperback, does not have a record with it like all the other Mr. Bill books currently for sale. Even harder to find than the books with records inside. When available, new ones like this book sell for $90.00 and higher. Stored in a cool, dry place in a smoke-free/pet-free home.
